Without speaking much, we all know that shawaramas have taken a favourite spot in our minds. This is mainly due to price, convenience and most importantly the taste. Similarly falafel also shares a unique spot in our minds be it with locals or the expat community. The traditional Middle Eastern food is normally served in a pita bread or kubbus along with veggies and tahina. Just as shawarama, falafel is also easily available even from roadside vendors.
The deep fried ball made from chick peas can be also be a choice, as a fritter snack along with some tahini. Therefore many of the street vendors serve falafel in the form of a sandwich or the fritter on its own. Falafel is not only popular in the Arab countries but also popular in the international markets. They may be known different in other countries, but the core ingredient and recipe remains the same. It is also considered as a replacement of meat and a true option for vegans. Therefore, falafel is a popular and proper street food option #StreetFood. Just as in the credit scene of Avengers, I often feel like Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man, who asks his fellow super heroes for a shawarma meal at a falafel joint. However, the only difference is that I am bit more energetic as falafel is #MyEquivalentFavoruite. |
What makes these ordinary and widely available falafel special? Well, in my opinion I feel the difference happens in the blend mix and lately, due to the new variations found in falafel. For instance, some falafel stores serve falafel with stuffings or fillings that would add on the taste. Just due to this small reason, there has been a major business opportunity for falafel's and we can see for ourselves the emergence of many new opened brands just for falafels all across. However, seeing my attachment towards falafel, I was taken by one of my friends to this little #HiddenGem in Business Bay.
Falafel Farm might not a popular joint among the masses, but it calls for a #HiddenGem alert. I really hope that the management opens more branches soon. Currently they just have one outlet in Churchill Tower located in Business Bay. They also have a branch in pipeline which is soon to open in Umm Suqeim. This #HiddenGem would definitely win over any individuals' heart and also make falafel a favourite dish.

Let me first point out the negatives as they are bare minimum. The cute and cozy outlet in Business Bay has parking constraints but other than this little drawback everything else sits on the positive end. The outlet offers both indoor and outdoor seating. As Churchil Tower in Business bay is next to the water canal, the outdoor seating gets a plus point for ambiance.
Indoor seating also has a unique element and pointer for its own. The fit out is simple yet filled with minute details that makes the experience delightful. Shelves all around the outlet with different pickled jars and a high ceiling is what you can see from a first look perspective. But the overall atmosphere it brings is subtle yet filled with prominent character.
As I visited the branch in summer the only viable option I had is indoor seating. But however, due to amazing luck, the air conditioning in the outlet was undergoing maintenance works. Thus, the proactive staff ensured I was comfortable and did keep a check often.
Just as the name suggests, the menu purely concentrates on falafel. They offer a wide range of options and variations for falafel from stuffed to custom sandwiches. The healthy option of baked falafel and fresh green salad is also available. The price range for the items offered are within the #PocketFriendly range.
Being a weekend brunch, me and my friend decided to get the all day break fast option which is the FarmHouse Breakfast Tray and Farmers Spicy Scrambled Eggs

Farm House Breakfast Tray (AED 29) was worth every fil spent. The quantity served was immense and served numerous options. This healthy breakfast tray consisted of labanh, musabaha, two slices of halloumi, spiced egg plant, veggies, homemade bread and #MyFavourite egg-y falafel. It was a complete surprise with soft boiled egg stuffed in a crisp and flavourful falafel outer shell and served with some shatha (spiced tomato dip). Every item on the tray was fresh and had sufficient quantity. As mentioned my favourite in the tray was the stuffed falafel. It is also available to be ordered separately at a priced of AED 5.
Farmers Spicy Scrambled Eggs (AED 19) was a simple preparation of Scrambled eggs garnished with some tomato and green chill. The flavour is definite hot but yet very satisfying. This dish was served with 2 pieces of pita bread. #SpiceSatisfaction
We also ordered falafel balls to share from the 'Sides' section of the menu. 10 pieces of falafel was priced at (AED 10) and was served with a choice of dips. This fritter was the first falafel which I felt had the unique flavour of spicy chickpeas. I could also feel a hint of mint flavour as well.
What is my favourite? Definitely the Stuffed Falafel(Egg) and the #SpiceSatisfied Falafel balls.
As drinks we ordered a cup of Joe and karak chai both were priced at AED 5 and felt that the quantity served and priced matched.
Something I forgot to mention is the choice of some original dessert recipes. However, as we were full and stuffed to our noses, we were unable to taste any of them. However, I wish to visit them soon to make my own custom falafel sandwich and to try one their original desserts
