Indian cuisine is well-known for its fun filled preparation using various spices. At 25 Degree North, the management ensures that each and every customer that enters their outlet indulges and perhaps evoke memories of favourite dishes tied with rich Indian culture. Through the use of traditional spices and herbs, the dishes are flavourful, aromatic, and served with a modern touch like any other diner in the current market.
The most crucial part that one needs to possess for mastering Indian cuisine is the art and talent of blending the right ingredients. In this way, the chef not only brings happiness in customers but also holds high the culture and tradition of India. Similarly, the chain aims to offer home-style cooked dishes prepared with some popular handpicked ingredients to bring in the authenticity. As Dubai's latitude position is 25 Degree North, the reason or the origination of the name is justified and can be considered as well thought off. The brand was born in late 2011 with the first branch in Tecom. And with just a matter of time, today the brand's portfolio consists of 4 outlets and a solid catering unit headquartered in JAFZA |
The colors of the furniture fabric did have an elegant touch of Indian Royalty in it. I was accompanied by my friends and it was more of a "kitty party" atmosphere. Luckily as we decided to dine in at an off time we had the outlet to ourselves.
A major issue at a kitty party is the noise and the pain of coming to a conclusion on what to order. However, after numerous flips of the menu, we decided to get Murgh Makhani, #IndianStaplefood Daal Thadka. No Indian meal is complete without a grill or kebab and due to a huge urge among the girls we decided to get the Murgh Banjara Kabab

To start off, we were served with complimentary welcome drinks in shots glass and a small portion of Dahi Bhalla chaat. The soothing chill of Dhai is phenomenal and I #HighlyRecommend it. The management should add this in their menu as an appetizer. Like any other Indian restaurant, a complimentary basket of pappad was also served. However, what keeps 25 North Degree different from the others would be the choice of condiments they serve along with this.
After snacking and munching the complimentary items, we actually dived directly into our main course. The munching took off the need for a starter course.
Starting with the #IndianStaplefood Dal Makhani; it was a preparation of yellow lentil tempered with onion, tomato and turmeric. Garlic sizzle was also used as a garnish. The good blend and rich flavours made the curry thick and satisfying. This is priced at Aed 28. The curry also has had the right amount of spice heat, which is required for a dish of this sort.

As mentioned above, the blend of spices is the main talent that is required in Indian cuisine, and therefore, the blend of sweetness and spice is crucial for an all-star butter chicken. Murgh Makani or rather simpler Butter Chicken at 25 Degree North does deserve the all- star, as it does have the right blend and mix. The ingredient of this dish is slowed cooked boneless chicken in butter with coriander leaves, tomato puree and the right quantity of garam masala and other desi spices. The curry quantity is another major highlight, as there were ample pieces of chicken required for all of us.
From the Kebab section, we ordered the Murgh Banjara Kabab which is also a #ChefRecomended dish on the menu. This platter priced Aed 35 is an authentic preparation of spicy kebabs which is made from boneless chicken piece, marinated with a spice mix used by the ancient Banjara tribe of India. It denoted a chilli icon next to the name on the menu, however, it was not at all spicy and did lack some flavors. It was not my favorite pick.
We ordered a bread basket (Aed 29) which consisted of Tandoor Roti, Plain Naan, Butter Naan, Garlic Naan and Roomali Roti. The price for the quantity served was worth it.
Even though 25 Degrees North holds ample hype over the social platforms. Somehow, our overall experience failed to meet our expectations.
