Venus Restaurant is located in the busy food street of Karama opposite Lulu park. The outlet has been a popular South Indian outlet ever since its first appearance and later, progressed to few more outlets across Dubai. I can’t recall the exact year of when they made their first appearance, but I have always heard and dined in Venus since my early childhood days.
The outlet in karama is a duplex, offering ample seating capacity on both the floors. The walls are vibrant yellow with typical wooden furniture. However, finding a parking is a tricky bit. The prices are super economical. Venus serves affordable 3 course meals starting from authentic South Indian breakfast followed by lunch, evening snacks and dinner. For breakfast, Venus serves individual platters with different variety or an option of Mini tiffin. The mini tiffin includes small portion of 2-3 or sometimes more options of snacks in one platter. Similarly, for lunch and dinner they serve individual delicacies. Their popular South Indian thali's that includes roti, rice, curries and a sweet. My personal favorites include any kind of dosa, poori bhaji, fried idly and kesari bath (sheera) for the dessert. The dosa are thin and crisp with the aroma of desi ghee but upon request, they also cook thick or not so crisp dosas. The poori bhaji set is 3 crispy pooris served with aaloo bhaji (Potato stuffing). Fried idly is one of their popular indo-chinese fusion. It is usual rice idly served with a twist of chinese flavors, veggies and spices. The Kesari bath aka sheera is a desi mithayi (sweet) made from sooji and dry fruits with the flavor of desi ghee. Overall, a perfect combo as an economy saver attached with consistent quality and quantity being its utmost paramount importance. They also offer quick home delivery. |
