As the search for pocket friendly outlets continued, I was bombarded with posts from my fellow bloggers about this little joint in JLT. Curious enough like always, I ended up going through the post and pictures on social media. It definitely did hit me with drool cravings for the mini sliders.
The name Smokin'9 speaks a lot about their menu. The brand has a menu that specializes in just 9 sliders, which keeps it simple and easy to choose. They also strive to perfect these rather than adding new ones to the menu. The brand’s slogan 'intense mini burgers' is the most apt phrase, as the mini sliders are intense in flavor and satisfaction. The Lebanese rooted brand, has made the right choice of location for their very first outlet. It is located amidst commercial and residential complexes and due to this, within 5 months the outlet has been able to attract a huge crowd. Even the social platforms have been a crucial element for their growth. It is quite human for any individual to try out something cute at least once and Smokin9 would definitely come under this umbrella. The tiny little outlet has a fit and ambiance that is more inclined to a hipster and casual feel. The grey-bricked wall along with retro steel chairs and hanging tabletop lights would certainly set a relaxed and causal feel in any individual. The concept of Recycle and Reuse is well portrayed with the use of recycled cardboard for their menu and take-away boxes. #GOGreen! The fit out also includes tiny pots of indoor plants. To top it all, the outlet offers an option of board games to choose from while you wait eagerly for the order. #GetMindsOccupied |
Although, my friends and I visited during lunch hours, the outlet was completely unoccupied. We were able to receive complete attention from the staff during the visit. The staff was proactive and prompt. They ensured regular clearing of the tables and assisted us with our needs.
Each of us ordered sets of two mini sliders. We tried the Agnes, Mighty and Frenchie from the Beef section. This was prepared from 100% Prime Australian Angus beef. The sliders were priced between AED 9-13 #Economical.

The Agnes was a preparation of grilled onions, tomatoes, and iceberg lettuce with beef patty. For the juicy flavoring, ketchup and mayonnaise was used. For the Mighty slider, the succulent beef was sautéed with shallots, parsley, gherkins and homemade steak tartar sauce.
The Frenchie, my personal favorite from the beef burger section was a mix of comte cheese, sautéed mushrooms in olive oil with some fresh parsley and Dijon mustard.
From the chicken section, we tried the Gringo priced AED 13. This was a complete let down although the menu mentions it as their signature patty. The patty was prepared from minced chicken served with homemade guacamole, iceberg lettuce and chipotle bbq mayonnaise.
For every three mini burgers, one complimentary signature dip was served. We got to try the Nam Prim Num (spicy Asian sauce) and Signature Honey Mustard. The Honey mustard is a perfect pick! #Highly Recommended
We ordered a hand cut skin on fries priced AED 8 as a side dish. This was served in a mini tin tub with ample quantity of well-seasoned crunchy fries. An additional of AED 2 was charged for Cajun seasoning. For drinks, smokin’9 offers just water and soft drinks for now, but I am certain that they would come up with something little cute just like their sliders.
