On an ordinary weekday, I wanted to try something different from the cliché menu and traditional food, which I normally have for lunch. 'It must be definitely junk' was the only thought that was running in my head. DIFC, which is an immediate home for many diverse diners, was my choice of location. Scrolling quickly through the food options on zomato, the page for Original Wings & Rings ran a counter bell for my thinking. The nacho was completely a win to my desire.
The outlet is located on Level C of the Liberty House in DIFC. Parking is definitely a hassle around this area of DIFC. However, the building does provide valet service for a fee. The sports bar has a contemporary ambiance with foosball tables and arcade game stations. The outlet also has an area dedicated for live band performance. However, the band performance is only during the evenings. The brand believes that Happiness Is Contagious. This is the main reason for the brand to line up many socializing and connecting occasions during the week. Some of them are the 'Wings Tuesday' and 'Double or Nothing Mondays'. As the name suggests on Tuesday traditional or boneless wings are sold at an extremely #PocketFriendly price of AED3.99 per piece. This offer runs on all Tuesdays from 12PM-8PM. Similarly, 'Double or Nothing Mondays' is an event that happens every Monday from 5PM-12AM. The offer for this day is the traditional Buy One Get One free offer on selected items. As I visited the outlet on a week day for late lunch, I was provided with two food menus. The staff explained that the special lunch menu was set for the busy office staff. This lunch menu eased the effort of going through the entire menu, and compressed all the best sellers in one card. But however as I was adamant on trying the nacho, I flipped through the entire menu. I was accompanied with my buddy from work. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Nachos #HighlyRecommened, Cheese Burger and the Chicken Fajita. |
The Buffalo Chicken Nachos (Aed 55) from the appetizers were truly delicious with mouthwatering flavors. It was a wholesome of spicy, crunchy and cheesy bites. The tortilla chips aka, nachos was loaded with chopped veggies like tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, black olives and spicy buffalo sauce chicken. To add on, melted cheddar cheese was mixed with the veggies and chicken. The dish was topped with bleu cheese or ranch and served with salsa on the sides. #Mexican
For the main course, I chose to try a Chicken Fajita priced Aed 49. This was a pita wrap served with coleslaw and fries on the sides. The wrap was tasty although, I felt the pita wrap was a little too thick. This was a loaded wrap with a handful of sautéed veggies, sour cream spread and seasoned chicken breast strips.
My buddy tried the Cheese Burger priced Aed 49. This was the usual beef burger with cheese as the add on. The beef patty was stacked with melted cheese and freshly sliced tomato, onion, pickle and lettuce. The flavor of well-done beef patty with melted cheese was too good! Literally, simple at its best. This was also served with coleslaw and fries on the sides. With an additional of Aed 8, my buddy chose to upgrade the usual fries to curly fries.
Overall, a new spot to me and many others with new and usual options of American food.
