Mama’esh, by the name may sound a bit complex but instead, it is a cute little joint which takes pride in being a 'Dubai Grown Brand'. The brand is already a popular preference for many in the foodie circle and is being actively promoted by them. Their offerings are more refined to Middle Eastern street food and is an apt spot for a casual quick biter. Another reason why it could be categorized as a quick biter is the price leg. The vibrant menu has a price range of AED 11-31 which is super economical for an individual #PocketFriendly.
The interior of the outlet is very interesting and resembles the trait of a street vendor. The overall lighting and the wooden furniture contributes to the much #Chill oriented atmosphere. The fit also has the feel of a rustic outlet and is well portrayed through use of minor detailing props. The outlet offers outdoor seating and is technically adjacent to the spectacular Dubai Canal. I think that should easily sum up the ambiance. #TopNotch Finding a parking around business bay is always a tricky task, however the tower provides underground parking to customers for a fee of AED20 per hour. This could be argued as a significant portion of the food money, but you could justify your conscience by the simple answer of convince and peace of mind and therefore should be considered as a good investment. Mamaesh is not only a causal street food diner but also offers wide range of offerings for all three meals. The preparation of breads is through the use of authentic wood fired oven which adds freshness and an element of char in every bite. A special mention I would like to make is about the friendly and cooperative staff. They were extremely proactive in meeting all on our requests. |
I headed to the outlet for a quick evening snack with a foodie buddy. We decided to try the popular Hummus with meat from the appetizers. Literally, one of the best hummus I have had till date! The creamy consistency of well-blended chickpeas was a perfect duo with hot khubs. Upon request, the server also added pine nuts to the hummus. To be honest, I could just have that as a meal #Favourites
For main course, we tried the Mozkawi Fatayer and a Chicken Wrap. The Mozkawi Fatayer was a combination of 3 cheeses namely kashkaval, akawi and mozzarella cheese topped with black seeds and chopped parsley. A simple preparation but yet a tempting flatbread pick with tantalizing aroma of warm cheese.
The Chicken wrap was priced AED 17. It was a preparation of juicy marinated shredded chicken along with crunchy lettuce and sliced tomato. The mild flavoured wrap, was tucked in a homemade pita bread; topped with freshly prepared honey mustard sauce and pickles.
The hummus and wrap platters came with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and green olives. There was also an option for whole wheat flour base for fatayers and wraps #Healthy
We were served complimentary scoops of Turkish ice-cream with pistachio powder to end the meal. The ice cream was extremely frosty for my taste and was served in traditional wooden bowls.
