Maharaja Bhog is located in Karama, the same building as the new Ansar Gallery. The place is very well known for the authentic Rajastani Thali. As it serves pure thali, it is apt for people who are willing to eat a lot. Out of my experience before going for a meal here, it is highly recommended to skip the meal before. The staffs are very friendly and have the broad Indian concept of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ which simply means that ‘The guests are equivalent to God’. They keep serving you until you are fully satisfied. The thali is extremely rich in its ingredient and surely a visual and taste treats to an individual. They offer a full 3 set course served all together from fritters, main course and finally the desserts. Three different type of desserts are served.
The restaurant is usually packed during the weekend. Another unique thing I noticed about this restaurant is that, the attentive floor manager keeps a check on what has to be quickly served and is communicated to fellow servers using hand gestures. There is never a minute where the plate is empty unless we ask them to stop. Something I really liked and would like to remark is the buttermilk serves along with thali, which was extremely soothing and relaxing to the tummy. However the thali is priced at AED43 , surely to the higher side, but no regrets at all. |
