Logma is a unique restaurant located in one of the prime locations of box park. Box park is currently a hot spot for diverse cuisine dine in. An extraordinary element that makes Logma unique is that, it’s not an ordinary restaurant that offers Arabic cuisine, but instead a place that offers very traditional authentic Emirati cuisine. It’s the first time I have come across a restaurant that offers typical Emirati cuisine. It is a well growing and well set up restaurant which offers various fusion and traditional khaleeji food and beverages.
Like any other person who would like to try new places, the first approach of checking their offerings and photos was also my approach. Being satisfied with the photos I went lunching on a weekday, soon after class so I called one of my classmates to join as well. Being lunch time parking at box park was not an issue, as there was ample parking available. The shop was filled but we found a quite spot. The interior of the outlet was yet again very traditional. The overall lighting in the outlet was simple with traditional lanterns hanging from the ceiling with warm colour, arranged ibrik (Arabic term for traditional tea pot) and hay shaped fit out for the juice section. However one of the walls had a wall decors that portrayed the skyline of Dubai symbolising the growing and thrilling Modern Dubai. The music played in the outlet was also something unique. The tape played popular pop songs played on the Arabic oud, which is similar to a guitar and it was very soothing. So when it comes to ambience Logma is marked at full points. For starters, we ordered the Logma fries worth Aed 28. It was crispy potato fries topped with a variety of Arabic masala and spices. The portion of the fries was suffice for two to three. For main course, I ordered the Logma Chicken Rice and my friend ordered the Roasted Chicken Sandwich. As the name says it all, Logma Chicken Rice was a rice dish made with a lot of khaleeji spices which contributed to its nice aroma. The chicken was well marinated without extra spices. The rice and chicken were served in a single dish and was topped with some fresh bay leaves and lots of cardamom. Like any other biriyani or rice dish it served with cold raita which gave the touch of homemade food. The Roasted Chicken Sandwich was really simple and healthy. It was Arabic kuboos (wheat bread) filled with well marinated herb chicken, sun dried tomatoes and some gruyere cheese. It may sound empty, but it was very filling as the tomatoes and a small portion of walnut pesto made the sandwich juicy rather than dry. For drinks we were quite confused with the variety offered. We approached the staff and she recommended us to try the Passion of Arabia as it was a top selling Mocktail. It was a mocktail made of passion fruit & pineapple. The drink was sour and sweet at the same time. The passion fruit seeds in the mocktail added to its unique point. To sum up an all-rounder of uniqueness and spectacular traditional ambience with a blend of authentic and fusion cuisine. |
