The Kulcha King outlet in Sheikh Zayed Road is one of their early branches in Dubai. The brand has been growing abnormally and has been able to attract a lot of customers, both Indian and others as well. As the location is Sheikh Zayed is right amidst the busy office and hotel areas, and itself located on the Mezzanine level of a hotel; here is no need to mention about the crowd that can be expected to the outlet. Today the brand has 8-9 branches across Dubai and Sharjah. Another specialty of this outlet is that, it is one of the only Authentic Indian restaurant which is open 24/7. They are the only Amirtsari in the restaurant and this has been one of their official taglines.
The interior and ambience was just average. White walls with dark brown furniture was the overall color scheme of the outlet. For starters, I ordered the Murg (chicken) Tikka. The Tikka was well cooked boneless chicken pieces with a spicy and lemon-y flavor. Along with tikka, a portion of spicy and tangy cooked vegetables was served. One portion of Murg tikka is priced Aed 30. For the main course, I tried the Chicken Lacha which had a very homemade touch to it. The lacha were extremely thin and flat with evenly spread fillings and glazed with desi ghee. All their kulcha and laccha are baked in the tandoor and the unique taste was easily identifiable. It was served with chicken gravy, achaar (pickle) and mint chutney. This was priced at AED 20. Absolutely satisfying with an easy accessible location and fantastic timings. |
