During a recent stroll on the lazy Al Wasl Road, the flashy board of Antar caught my eyes. The outlet is located right before the spinners junction in Umm Suqeim. We stopped by to take a quick glimpse of the menu and then continue back on the stroll; however, we ended up ordering. I decided to get a quick snack as I was really hungry after a tiring day. My buddy decided to join the company and try out something. The very first appearance of the outlet would leave you a bit confused of whether it is an ordinary cafeteria or the expensive kind. The reason for this I feel is the overall bright lights and the outlet fit.
Unlike the cliché indoor and outdoor seating, Antar has a unique concept. The indoor seating inside the outlet is limited, but however they have come up with a smart solution of converting a portion of their outdoor seating with air conditioning and thereby giving it the indoor feel. Another element of surprise was the concept of toll free number and online ordering for a cafeteria. This is a total core competency compared to the other competitors in this segment. It definitely takes them to a whole new level and gives them a preference over the others due to the ease factor. As we flipped through the menu, we noticed that despite the posh feel, the prices were in line with other cafeterias in the segment. As the pricing for such cafeteria are known for being pocket friendly, Antar would also fall in the category of being #PocketFriendly. |
We opted for takeaway, I ordered a Spicy Chicken Club Sandwich which was priced at AED 20. Being a combo meal, they also served some French fries and pickles along with the sandwich. The packing for this was also very standardized and of high quality compared to the competitors. The chicken fillet for the sandwich was crispy and had a succulent flavor. The add on of jalapeño made the whole meal spicy. #Twist
My friend ordered a half charcoal chicken that was a portion of drumstick and breast. Unlike the others with dry flavoring, Antar charcoal chicken was juicy and well cooked with a spicy marination. It was priced AED 28 and was served with soft khubz (arabic flat bread), fries, hummus, garlic paste and fresh salad. As mentioned earlier, the packaging of each item was of superior quality and freshness. #Grill
Antar is definitely #MustTry because it takes the cafeteria feel to a whole next level.
