Jaffer Bhai's has been a trending restaurant in Zomato’s top Indian restaurants charts. The reviews and feedback were also a total green liner. This was one of my valid reasons to pay a visit to the restaurant which is located opposite the Civil Defence in Al Karama. So on a week day afternoon I visited the outlet along with my family. The outlet was calm, the phones kept ringing indicating the rush for delivery. I have also heard that their delivery is quite fast adding to the plus points for the restaurant. The outlet in karama is average sized but could get full quickly during the weekends.
The restaurant had various posters and pictures of their famous JafferBhai outlets in Mumbai, India. The overall lighting of the outlet was warm white with yellow and dark upholstered wooden furniture balancing the contrast. The aroma in the outlet was spread with tempting Indian spices. To keep up the Desi etiquettes of a meal, after placing the order seasoned onions and lime was served along with achar(pickles) and mint chutney. We were all given a heads- up by our family friends that their biriyani is a must try dish. So we placed an order for a Mutton Biriyani & Chicken Tikka Biryani along with Naan and an additional Chicken Leg Barra curry. We were not expecting such serving quantity per dish. Each serving was sufficient for 2-3 persons. Well, I have to admit that the reviews and hype about this restaurant was spot on. The taste was as delicious as its aroma. The masala’s used for the biriyani was positively pungent. The taste of the unique Indian spices were easily identifiable . My favourite was the Chicken Tikka Biriyani. The chicken was absolutely tender with unique tikka mix masala. It could be a bit spicy but for sure is an unique experience . The quality of the ingredients were extremely superior. As we visited the restaurant on wednesday, Chicken Leg Barra was listed under the wednesday specials. I must say, the gravy was a blend of indian spices with rich creamy texture. As the name suggest, well cooked chicken leg pieces was used. We ordered assorted roti basket to have with the gravy. The roti was served hot with a glaze of melted butter. Overall as mentioned above, the hype was genuine and spot on. The pricing on each dish was extremely reasonable for mainly two reasons; the quantity and quality of flavors and service. |
