Dine at Ikea?.... Initially this question was a doubtful one for me because the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear IKEA is purely furniture’s and the neatly stacked, packed furniture boxes. But over time the concept of dining at IKEA has been accepted by many individuals. Many people even prefer and suggest it as an economical and high quality diner. It also attracts numerous furniture shoppers to have a quick sandwich or refreshment. Yet again, they have been able to win the hearts and minds of many with their economical shawaramas and hot dogs available at the Ikea Bistro. Mainly due to the quantity and quality offered.
I still remember the adverts which were used to promote the breakfast concept when it was first introduced in this market. The adverts mainly focused to convey the message of cheap and best breakfast priced at AED 4, which consisted of eggs, hash browns, sausages and baked beans. Different kinds of breads, fruits and different brews of coffee were also offered but however with an additional charge. It has also been featured in the ‘Great Breakfast’ collection of zomato. Due to all this, my family decided to go for breakfast at Ikea after a long time. It was packed, but as it offered an open dining hall with plenty of seating; finding a spot was easy. It had a typical food court style arrangement so ambience was a factor to be eliminated. We had a choice to either choose set breakfast meals or pick our own individual orders from a range of options like cheese toast, hash brown, pancakes, salmon and much more. Also, a variety of add on's was available with additional charges. My favorite desserts is the almond cake and Oreo cheesecake available at ikea. The self service concept is also something which I really fancy. |
