Looking for a contemporary Emirati eatery, restaurant or something with a twist?! Then falla it is!!. Falla is an ultimate capsule for all of the mentioned nouns. Just as how Zomato has mentioned and featured falla, it is truly a hidden gem in the city. As of now they have just one outlet which is located in Umm Suqeim right on the road side of the most happening kite beach. Parking right in front of the outlet is an issue, but there is ample parking right behind the outlet.
Being an Emirati contemporary concept eatery the interiors are done in the same manner. The outlet has different colored glass panels through which when light is emitted fills the outlet with multi colored rays and is surely a joy filled vision to any individual, be it of any age group. It’s just not that, to push in the element of a pure Emirati concept to the diners, the outlet has wallpaper which displays a caricature of an Arab biting a burger. Also facing the entrance, high chair stools with upholstery of caricature with traditional men and women with their respective ghutra and burqa. To add to it, the red and white plastic chairs add to its contemporized theme. I don’t think there is a need for further description about the interiors and could sum it up in just one word which is fabulous. As the tag line for the chain states “If it’s not fresh, it’s not falla” they ensure that they deliver all the food with freshness as its ultimate partner. As I visited the outlet along with one of my friend during late lunch time, the outlet was calm and quite. After a quick browse through the menu, we decided to try a dish from each category and this was mainly because the menu was limited. From the ‘Burgers and Sandwich’ section we decided to order Sliders which was priced at AED 30. These were 3 mini sliders with a choice of beef or chicken. Mixing both was also an option. The fill for it was simple with just melted cheese and the signature falla sauce. The chicken fillet was crunchy, and so was the juicy beef patty. From the ‘Pasta Pasta’ section we had the Alfredi which was priced at AED 35/42 mainly depending on chicken, or carne, or shrimps. It was prepared with creamy white sauce, seasoning and sautéed mushrooms and served with parmesan cheese for topping. We chose chicken Alfredi priced at Aed 35. And finally from the ‘To Share’ section we had the TNT Shrimps which was priced at AED30. Like any other crispy dynamite shrimps, this too was prepared with sweet and spicy sauce. To add extra crunchiness to the dish, it was served with the fry crunch or remains. As it had the same marination it was a true fill for the sauce. It was served with shredded lettuce. As a lubricant, for all this heavy dishes we ordered Naski Naski priced at AED 18. It was thick pulp of pineapple and kiwi with no sugar and was much needed for easy digestion. |
