Al Afadhil, offers authentic Lucknowi food. Some years back, I visited the Sharjah outlet with my family. The outlet was not very impressive with low lighting and old furniture, but I was looking forward to the food after what my relatives mentioned. I noticed the Al Afadhil craze is only for the 5-8 signature dishes they have on the menu.
Recently, we came across the Karama outlet. The restaurant location offers plenty of parking but insufficient seating. The restaurant ambience is below average compared to the other desi eateries. As mentioned earlier, the food is incredibly amazing; very simple and pocket friendly. The menu is very limited and includes just chicken tikka, kebabs, paratha, daal and lassi. The matka sweet lassi is truly the highlight of the meal. It is highly recommended with the meal. Each matka (claypot) is sweet, cold, rich and creamy. The chicken tikka is the usual spicy Indian tikka offered in leg and breast pieces. They offer two kababs Shammi and Lucknowi. The Shammi kabab is a plate of 4 pieces of spicy kebabs. Lucknowi kabab is a plate of well-cooked minced meat with a lot of Indian spices. The daal fry served is thick gravy. Not very fancy but the only gravy available on the menu. The parathas were delicious. It was served hot and fresh. Overall, the ambience and presentation of food is not something to look forward to but the taste is too good. Surely, not a weekend dine out eatery. |
